Splitter Selection Guide
Follow these steps to quickly select the right diverter product for your application
Determine the current range
According to your application scenario, determine the maximum current value to be measured. It is recommended to choose a product with a rated current slightly greater than the actual operating current, leaving 20% margin.
Selection of accuracy class
Selection is based on measurement accuracy requirements: Class 0.5 for general industrial applications, Class 0.2 for high-precision measurements, and Class 0.1 for precision instruments.
Confirm output voltage
Standard output voltages are available in 75mV, 100mV, 150mV and other specifications, which need to be matched with the back-end acquisition equipment. 75mV is the most commonly used specification.
Consider the mounting method
According to the installation space to choose the appropriate external dimensions and installation methods, and reserve enough space for heat dissipation.

Answers to your common questions in the process of product selection and use
A shunt is a precision resistor that operates on the principle of Ohm's Law (U=IR). When current passes through a shunt, a small voltage (usually at the mV level) proportional to the current is generated across its terminals, and the current flowing can be calculated by measuring this voltage.
When selecting a shunt current specification, it is recommended that the rated current be 1.2-1.5 times the actual maximum operating current. For example, if the maximum operating current of your system is 80A, it is recommended to select a shunt with a 100A specification.
High-quality shunts have excellent long-term stability and usually do not require frequent calibration. Safran's products have an accuracy variation of less than 0.11 TP3T over 10 years under normal use conditions. however, for precision measurement applications, calibration verification is recommended every 1-2 years.
Attention should be paid during installation: 1) Make sure the wiring is solid and the contact resistance is as small as possible; 2) The voltage sampling line should be connected as close as possible to the resistor body of the shunt; 3) Enough space is reserved for heat dissipation; 4) It is recommended that the high current shunt be installed vertically to facilitate heat dissipation.
Yes, we offer a full range of customization services, including: special current specifications, non-standard output voltages, special form factors, with temperature compensation, with digital communication interfaces (RS485/CAN), and more.
All Safran electronic shunt products are provided with 3 years warranty service. During the warranty period, we provide free repair or replacement service for failures caused by product quality problems. Our products are designed to last more than 10 years.
